Who We Are
Dyslexia Associates of San Antonio (DASA) is your source for prompt, professional, and affordable dyslexia and learning disability testing. We understand the challenges of being a struggling learner or of being the parent of a struggling learner.
Our home office is based in San Antonio, and we primarily serve San Antonio and other cities in Texas; however, our nationally recognized, norm-referenced assessments meet state and federal guidelines for other states as well. We have even performed assessments for individuals at schools in France and Germany.
DASA offers reasonably priced dyslexia assessments.
Assessments are administered at the home offices of our director and/or other diagnosticians. Having a lower overhead allows us to provide quality assessment at a fraction of the price others may charge. We offer comprehensive testing and reporting, including recommendations for individual accommodations at work or school. Our reading assessments, which are professionally prepared, meet the requirements for legal 504 and special education ARD accommodation requests for school, state testing, or work. We are here to assist, not to exploit. Feel free to write us for references from former clients or to receive more information. Initial questions and consultations by telephone are absolutely free.
Texas Education Agency and federal Child Find law now recommend FIE (full individual evaluation) for dyslexia assessment. This includes cognitive (IQ) testing and allows consideration of special education support. Parents have a legal right to bring an independent evaluation to the public school for documentation and consideration, and parents who previously received an FIE from their child's school and disagree with the results have the right to request a third-party follow-up evaluation. We will be happy to explain all of your options so that you may make an informed decision about is best for your child or yourself.
If the client is Spanish-language dominant, our state certified Master Reading Teacher and Educational Diagnostician R. Robinson is ESL certified and trilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese).
Don’t be fooled by certain “quick tests”, “online evaluations” or tutoring companies that merely “qualify” you for their expensive tutoring programs. To be accepted by schools, colleges, state or federal agencies in Texas and across the nation, you will need an assessment conducted by an educational psychologist, an educational diagnostician, or a licensed specialist in school psychology following state and federal guidelines. The first thing we will do before any assessment is to show you our credentials and certifications.
This site and our business is your chance to ask questions, to share concerns, and to promote ideas and opportunities related to dyslexia. Write info@dyslexia-sa.com
Each of us together is greater than each of us alone.

Expert Guidance with a Compassionate Heart
ROBIN ROBINSON, M. Ed
Our founding director, Robin Robinson, is a state-certified Educational Diagnostician and Legacy Master Reading Teacher who trains reading teachers in how to teach reading. She is also a trained dyslexia interventionist able to provide multisensory tutoring for children and adults. With nearly three decades of experience in education, Ms. Robinson has worked in disability support since 2000.
